Introduction

As a Microsoft Certified Instructor I encompass  a broad range of skills including: software/hardware configuration and installation, hardware/software debugging, test and documentation and courseware development.

 

Windows application and Web development design.  Knowledge of gathering and creating functional requirements and the ability to translate them into technical design and development projects. Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of an organization from the end-user to upper management.

Microsoft Certified Trainer, Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer .NET  (MCT,  MCP, & MCSD.NET) and a Certified Partner to Microsoft.

I am certified by Microsoft and have the skills and expertise in the following areas:

Up to 10 years experience in each of the following - MDAD (Microsoft Distributed Architecture Development):  Knowledgeable in COM/DCOM, COM+, ActiveX technologies, specifically with regard to incorporation in Internet-distributed applications.  Proficient with all Visual Studio tools, including Visual Basic (3.0 – 6.0), Visual Basic.NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, C#.NET, SQL Server, Visual Interdev, ASP, HTML, DHTML, XML and Active Data Objects (ADO).

 

Consulting experience in Visual Basic, COM, COM+, Commerce Server 2000 & 2002, VB .NET, ASP .NET and C#.  Most recent consulting: CITM ( a Clark/Novar company) as lead Architect on Web Project.

 

C#: Strong knowledge of C# development and application design, training and consulting since pre-beta.

 

Visual Basic: Strong knowledge of Visual Basic since 3.0.  Besides MCT certifications for all MS Visual Basic courses, I have consulted for such companies as Dell Computers, J.C. Penney, and Planned Parenthood.  My specific areas of expertise include database integration (ODBC, DAO, ADO, and ADO.NET) using databases such as MS SQL Server and Access.  Some experience with Oracle.  I also have strong skills in the area of ActiveX technology, more specifically; I have 7+ years teaching and developing “business components” using Visual Basic.

 

Web Development: Strong knowledge of MS tools to develop and manage complete web-based distributed applications – including the use of Visual Studio (all versions including .NET) and its tools to develop ADO,  ADO.NET, Active Server Pages (ASP), ASP.NET, DHTML, XML, and HTML.  Knowledge of configuration  (and administration) of IIS (MS Internet Information Server).

 

Application Security Specialist:  One of two authorized trainers for the Dell Inc. Secure Application Development course.  Assisted with the development of this custom course for Dell that is a mandatory course for all DELL developers worldwide.  This course informs Dell developers of the need for security in software and the specific techniques required in .NET and Java to implement secure code.

 

Curriculum Assessment:  Assist with the selection and customization of courseware that meets the specific needs of customers.  Years of experience listening to customers’ needs to select, design, and author (where necessary) the exact curriculum for customers moving into new technologies such as .NET.

 

NT, Windows 2000. AND XP Operating Systems:  Knowledge of all Microsoft NT Operating Systems including, administration, support, installation, configuration, and networking.

 

Microsoft Office:  Efficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Front page.  I also have experience using MS Project.

 

Communication Skills:  Excellent communication skills both verbally and writing.  Strong ability to listen and communicate with others.

 

Courseware Development:  Develop custom courseware in areas such as C#, Visual Basic, Visual Basic Scripting, Active Server pages, COM, and assisted in the development of Device Drivers for Windows NT and Windows 2000.  Also assisted with the Windows 2000 Device Driver Book published by Prentice Hall and written by Jerry Lozano.

Publications

Courseware:  Designed an authored the C# .NET curriculum for Hands On Technical Training.  This included the design of and introductory language course, environment specific courses, including Windows, Web (ASP.NET), and Distributed Applications.  Authored the course book and lab manual for two of these courses.

 

Videos: Author and presenter of the TestOut ASP.NET curriculum.  Formulated the outline and provided fully scripted text and demonstrations for this CD-based video training course.  Sole presenter of the final production product.

Background

Currently, and for the past 12 + years, I co-operate and co-own a software training and consulting concern.   While I participate in managing the concern I also fill the role as independent contractor teaching and consulting with various Microsoft development and operating system products.  My work requires a great deal of travel all over the United States.  A partial list of companies and institutions that I have worked include:
